Plain and simple: No, hell no!

A criminal is a criminal. If they get caught eating a corpse or smoking a joint, it's still a crime. And once a criminal, always a criminal. Besides, all pot smokers I once knew were garbage! They'd get high and start treating me like I'm subhuman, mocking me and getting a rise out of me. So the more of them rot in prison, and the longer, the better.

Arizona once made pot possession a felony, and put people in prison for a year for it. I really miss those days!

Does this include holding illegal social gatherings during the COVID crisis?

Or, had you been alive a hundred years ago, drinking alcoholic beverages during Prohibition?

I wasn't convicted, let alone caught.

Besides, scamdemic lockdowns aren't laws. They were never presented as bills, voted on, or signed. No law = no crime.

True. This question is too vauge. For example Biden just pardoned people who were convicted only for simple possession of pot. There is a HUGE difference between somebody who occasionally gets high at home on their weekends & somebody who is a seriel killer but both could have criminal records. There's also been plenty of civil rights activists & various others who were arrested & found guilty when they were publically protesting because they were tresspassing, disturbing the peace, or being disorderly; while there's plenty of politicians who get away with violent rape. The justice system is EXTREMLY FLAWED

Same with several known celebrities (actors, singers, models, etc.) too. Like Mel Gibson, I think Bruce Willis (at least a misdemeanor for talking back to a cop at one point), and certain rappers like Cardi B and 50 Cent were notorious for it. It still doesn't change their positive public image more dramatically.

It depends on the crime.

Abortion? Yup.
Insurrection? Yup.
Hiding people during the Holocaust? Yup.
Knocking sense into child or animal abusers? Yup.

I'm a moral relativist.

I have dated criminals, so my answer would be a yes.

You're still a criminal even if you don't get caught.

Unlike dope smokers, at least where it's legal.

Good point!

The action is what matters - not if someone was or wasn’t caught. Disobeying social distancing laws during COVID lockdown is worse than smoking weed because it was putting others at risk. Weed should be legalized in the US.

It depends on what the criminal record is. If it's something like a murder then I'd probably steer clear because there's something about murderers that I don't trust, unless they only murdered when under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but I wouldn't date them if they still took drugs or alcohol that affected their behaviour. But murders, especially when done without being under the influence, is a very big deal and is not something that any person in their right mind would do, so if a person has murdered before, chances are they could murder again.

I think murder and other violent crimes get their own category apart from "having a record", unless of course the person offed someone in self-defence or it was a home intruder etc. -- in places where we're allowed to kill home intruders.

I guess it would depends on a few factors:

• First time or repeat offense?

• Felony or misdemeanor?

• Accessory or perpetrator?

• Adult or juvenile offense?

• Provoked by abuse/assault or "Crime of Passion"?

• Is the person a fugitive from justice or a parolee?

• Are there any restraining orders or outstanding warrants against the person?

All this in addition to the usual qualia of health, appearance, attitude, intelligence, education, et cetera.

My boyfriend Jerry is NOT a murderer

So I don't understand why everyone is against me dating him!

Has he been convicted of murder?  Is he currently incarcerated?

If there were people inside the vehicle when he struck it, then he is a dangerous person.  If there was no one in the vehicle when he struck it, then he may be less dangerous, but still violent.

Either way, I understand why people do not want you near him -- he may hurt you.

I'm not sure 'everyone' is. Personally, I hope things work out between the two of you.
