Can't say I'd miss the internet that much if it disappeared

If the whole internet were to disappear and we went back to the 80s or more likely if a solar storm took 80-90% of modern tech out and send us back to before the whole industrial revolution, I don't know if I could say I'd miss it that much. Sure, there are some things I would miss, but a lot of other times I wonder if life would still be better if it went away or didn't exist in the first place.

I might be more productive without 80-90% of current tech, but if I was honest with myself, I'd probably find low tech ways of procrastinating.

I'm rather fond of being able to post my arts and crafts online even if most other people couldn't care less about them.

I'd miss being able to sit on my duff for everything from banking to grocery shopping to ordering drugs (medicinal and otherwise), or having doctor's appointments and OT on Zoom.

If I had to do that stuff in real life again, I'd pack it all in and be done.

I always find it funny when people use the internet to criticize the internet.

I think the Internet is the best thing that's ever happened.

Loss of the internet would be the end of life as I've come to know it.

It'd be absolutely inconvenient to not be able to find information, do online shopping, work from home, communicate with my family etc. So, I guess I'd miss it if the Internet ceased to exist. However, I'd love to see people panic, be annoyed by the inconvenience and suffer. As the saying goes, you should happily make yourself suffer if doing so will also make others suffer.

Gosh a return to simpler times

Because of the internet I was able to order some fabric and supplies online that got delivered in a week since the only store where I live that sells decent fabric is still closed because of Hurricane Fiona. I'm still worried the store will never recover from the damage and close for good.

The only thing id miss about the internet is talking to the few friends I made and ordering unique stuff online that i would never find at my local Walmart.

Other than that I wouldnt miss it at all. In fact id be glad if i didnt feel dependent on it anymore

I would, but if everyone else lost it too it would make dealing with the loss easier since I'd feel like I didn't miss anything others won't. It would, however, make life a lot harder as lots of official stuff is handled online around here, including paying the bills. Not that I don't know how to get my bills paid in the bank, but that's so expensive that I've never seen point in trying it out even when I have visited the bank for other things.

If technology in general went out, that would be bad. Lots of chronically sick people would eventually get sicker and probably die painful deaths due to not being able to get their meds and/or other treatment.
