I felt sad for both IsabellaLinton and their mother. So no, it did not make me laugh. There was nothing funny about their trauma.

And there is nothing funny about someone getting beat up.

Does that satisfy your curiosity?

For my part, I meant no offense to anybody. I thought I was just honestly answering a question. I thought that as the event happened many years ago, it was safe to say what I did. I didn't say I was proud of those feelings. Sorry if I accidentally came over as flippant.

That's a great question. The comparison between a tantrum and a meltdown is very insightful.

Oh they do, believe me. Most human kids are rude, cruel, and selfish by nature, and unless the adults teach them that being that way is wrong or reward them for such behavior, they're going to grow to be even worse adults. Which basically explains why most human adults are the worst.

Meltdown is way worse!
I think meltdowns is not something you choose.
Tantrum seems more like something you can choose...but I am no expert.

When autistics have meltdowns they usually say things like "leave me alone" or "stop doing that" in response to overstimulation and whatever triggered the meltdown. They are also usually defensive in their behavior, and often regret overdoing it after calming down.

Whether your memory was meltdown or not, I can't tell, as you didn't provide enough info.

Good article IMO. I particularly like their recommended way of dealing with a tantrum, which avoids resorting to "discipline." There's no need to punish, it's enough to simply not reward the tantrum.
