It is neither unsexy or sexy. It is a problem you have and if people don't like it, they can go elsewhere. Everyone has problems and we have to deal with our own and other people's in a sympathetic and caring way. Human bodies and minds have problems, it's part of being human!

If someone doesn't like your IBS, they are not worth going out with!

Farts are embarrassing, probably because of how society sees farts as humour and how most cultures believe it's socially unacceptable to fart in public.

I think my fear of farting in front of people stems back to when I was 11, one time in assembly at school. I didn't really fart much as a kid but for some reason I had so much gas built up that morning (I hadn't even eaten anything yet) that it was becoming too intense to hold in. I squeezed my butt cheeks together as much as I could, but the gas still started to leak out, and sitting on a plastic chair made it crackle out really loudly and it lasted a good few seconds. In fact it was so loud (and odourless, thankfully) that the other kids couldn't tell who it was coming from. The whole hall (auditorium) heard it and we're silently laughing and looking around to see if they could detect the culprit, but thankfully nobody suspected it came from my ass. The principal was standing at the front of the hall talking and she probably heard it but pretended not to.
But it was still embarrassing, and could have been worse if kids around me had known it was me and I probably wouldn't have heard the end of it. The thing is, it wasn't even like me to fart like that. That was probably the biggest fart I'd ever done in my whole life.

i understand how embarrassing that would be
because people seem to think that farting in front of lots of people means your rude and shameless .but sometimes like in your case it couldnt be helped

thats never happened to me but i have burped loudly in a restaurant without meaning for it to come out so forcefully
it was after a very filling meal and i felt bloated then felt the pressure of a burp rising.i tried to control the way it came out but it was hopeless i put my hand over my mouth but it still came out loud and long it was so embarrassing because i was probably the sexiest woman there and to see me burp like a man was just embarrassing

They need to get a brain then. All humans fart.

I think porn has a lot to answer for: many men watch a lot of porn and it leads them to believe that the ideal woman doesn't have bodily functions and is always available for sex.

Porn is merely a caricature which depicts sex.

^^this.

But lads start watching it at a very young age because it's easily available and it distorts their view of women and sex, IMO.

I overheard my 15 year old neighbour complaining because his neighbour (me) was an ugly old woman and not a beautiful babe. I don't know if that is a modern thing or what but I don't think we would have dared to say that when I was young. People were just people, there was no image to live up to.

It's a "modern" thing.

No kid, even a generation ago, would have said such a thing.

Frankly, in reality, many of the young people today aren't exactly model material. Most are "average" looking just like most people are "average" looking.

Yes, Mr K, I think the 'reality' shows are also to blame, because everyone on them looks like models. I mean shows like Love Island, not the Bake Off. Kids think people 'should' look like models now. And anyone who doesn't is 'ugly.'

And also the amount of make up women wear now sets an unrealistic image. When I was young, it was a bit of eyeliner and lip gloss. Now it's a full face of foundation, eye shadow, mascara, blusher lipstick etc. Every day! Everyone is supposed to look perfect now days and anyone without full makeup is seen as 'ugly'.

As you say, most people are average looking. We always have been. It's just that these days the focus is on looking perfect and having the right image.

sometimes i dont even mind having wind if im alone and not in too much discomfort i mean who cares if a bit of air keeps coming out every few minutes if your alone and not going out anywhere

i have wind now as we speak

I can't understand people thinking others are 'too beautiful to fart' or something. How silly. I fart all the time and my husband just has to put up with it. He farts too, it's part of being alive.

I think what the OP is trying to say is that many women avoid talking about flatulence (I've noticed that in my "fun questionnaire thing" thread). In real life I have a real hard time admitting to flatulence and I get so ashamed and embarrassed about it, but on WP where I'm anonymous I feel more comfortable in talking about it.

you can buy Psyllium seed husks and put 7 grams into 300-400ml of almond milk or oat milk shake (maybe with some protein powder and easy melting oats) or something.

That's unnecessarily complicated btw. You might as well put 7 grams of Psyllium seed husks into 100-150ml of water. Tested it again 2 days ago, because when I started taking my meds again a few weeks ago it caused constipation.

If you are able you might want to look into taking vitamin K2 mk7 along with magnesium. If it doesn’t cure you in week you could stop taking it. If you took it for two weeks and said it cured you I would believe it. As always consult a doctor before taking anything. I would also believe it if you took it and said it had no effect which is more likely.

This is the part where I start talking crazy about things I don’t know about. It might help you if you have elevated calcium levels in your blood. I really don’t know how it helps so what I just said is probably bogus. There is no literature that says it helps or doctors saying it helps. Some aliens told me it helps.
