If you have autism in the sense of Asperger Syndrome, or (yes, I know the name does not apply anymore; -)) but have any of you taken Piracetam? Because a psychiatrist prescribed Piracetam for me, I wanted him to prescribe a drug Concerta, but he is a psychiatrist MD, not me, and I don't have ADHD, but Asperger our Polish psychiatrist are so lame :/

I vaguely remember reading the results of a study recently which suggested increasing circulation of blood in the brain may improve the condition of autists. So I concluded that something like Piracetam could help. But I didn't test it.

In my case I prefered the Tianeptine which got prescribed to me, which I took for many years until a year ago. It seems like it increased neuroplasticity in my brain, while also increasing levels of dopamine. On top of autism I have genetic variations which decrease neuroplasticity and dopamine availability in the brain.

It's different for everyone, I remember I was having heart palpitations from any of the -racetam's after a while and I heard Tim Ferris actually mention that side effects like this are common.

IMHO for the same desired 'bang' you might be better off with a Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, etc. supplement, I've been able to do that sort of thing without anything funny happening.
