Well, some day it was expected to happen.

Probably two Russian missiles diverted from their track enough to cross the border to Poland. There are other possibilities being discussed but this one seems most likely.

If this is true, the Ukrainian war has just spilled to NATO territory.

Polish government is holding an emergency meeting. They refuse to officially confirm any information yet. The Pentagon alike.

Some official statements and actions will be likely decided tonight.

The Russians like to scare the refugees fleeing from Ukraine to the rest of Europe. So they hit close to the western border with their missles. So it aint surprising that a couple of missiles would overshoot into the next country by mistake.

Biden: ‘Unlikely’ missile that hit Poland was fired from Russia, pending investigation

Quote:
President Biden on Tuesday said it initially appears unlikely that a missile that hit a rural town in Poland near the Ukraine border was fired from Russia, but he said a final determination is pending a full investigation into the incident.

“There is preliminary information that contests that,” Biden told reporters when asked whether the missile was fired from Russia. “I don’t want to say until we completely investigate. It’s unlikely in the minds of the trajectory that it was fired from Russia.”

Biden, who is attending the Group of 20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, spoke to the press after convening a meeting with the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Spain, Japan and the Netherlands. The leaders of the European Commission and European Union were also in attendance.

Biden spoke with Polish President Andrzej Duda before meeting with other allies in Bali.
“We agreed to support Poland’s investigation into the explosion in rural Poland near the Ukrainian border, and I’m going to make sure we figure out exactly what happened,” Biden told reporters after the meeting. “Then we’re going to collectively determine our next step as we investigate and proceed. There was total unanimity among folks at the table.”

The U.S. and other NATO members have largely said they are still gathering information on the incident before deciding how to respond. The missiles landed in Poland amid a fierce Russian aerial barrage on Ukraine targeting energy infrastructure ahead of winter.
The strike has set off a frenzy over the Western alliance’s mutual defense mechanism known as Article 5.

That article says that any attack on a NATO member “shall be considered an attack against them all.” It was last invoked following the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the U.S.

That's it man, we're doomed. Putin has lost his mind since the isolation of the Covid pandemic, and he was a few sandwiches short of a picnic before then. The only hope is that he dies soon and someone less insane takes his place, but I doubt that will ever happen. The world is just full of chaos.

Oh well, I just found out there are now past 8 billion humans in the world now, which is sickening. Something desperately has to happen to reduce that since humans are too stupid to not reproduce. And who really wants to live to be old anyway, when your body and mind just get weak and sick?

Officially confirmed:
At least one missile of Russian production exploded in Przewodów, killing two people.
Other information not confirmed and due to gravity of the situation, speculations are undesired.

NATO art 4 - consultations in a threatning situation - launched.
Emergency meetings on NATO and national level scheduled for today.

Russian rhetorics has become very agressive, accusing us of a provocation to escalate and to introduce NATO forces - I read it as a sign they're scared.

That can be a good sign, a sign that Russia is scared to their pants of NATO intervention. Now we need to use their fear to force them to de-escalate.
A very serious diplomatic work.

China is also scared, taking the strongest stance against this war so far.

It's like the Cuban crisis. Everyone is scared. And this hopefully encourages constructive diplomacy, just like it happened back then.

They're saying it was most likely Ukrainian air defence:

Yup.

That crosses out rapid art-5-ing and nuclear holocaust for now.

So, in a way, it's a good news. Or at least not the worst news.

There were some very dark thoughts going through my mind for a few hours. Glad to put them in the background.

Polish President Andrzej Duda has said there are no signs of an intentional attack after a missile strike killed two people on a farm near the western border with Ukraine.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said it was "unlikely" the missile had been fired from Russia.

Between the lines: "We can't tell for sure that it's Russian. We also can't tell for sure that it's Ukrainian, but we're going to say it was Ukrainian because anything else opens a can of worms we just aren't ready to deal with."
