It does seem that the best they can hope for is that Trump loses the nomination and doesn't run as an independent. Naturally as an anti-Republican I hope that doesn't happen.

Haven't noticed any great increase in the size of my family's wallet, but emotionally it was uplifting to be rid of the offensive gloating he did while he was in power. And there's a bigger picture than our wallet.

I’m not sure. There’s still stuff the GOP has done that have been issues, like with the “don’t say gay” bill and roe v wade being overturned.

Good point that asking how one is doing today, on the assumption every aspect is under the charge of the current president, really is the wrong question. Effects take time to develop, and then they linger.

Not to mention trying to erase history, and by history I mean their role in violently attacking the nation's capital to overturn the 2020 election and refusing to hold the orange ringleader who started this coup responsible.

Like they really think they can force everyone in this country to forget about Jan 6th the same way the Chinese government thinks they can censor the hell out of what happened during the Tiananmen Square Massacre.

Then again I guess maybe they can if they repeat that stupid lie long enough and gain totalitarian power over this country. They don't call us "The United States of Amnesia" for nothing.

At least, under Biden, we still possess a modicum of democracy in the governance of our country.

If Trump would have won, he would have continued to set dangerous precedents destructive to our democracy.

I strongly suspect that the Roe v. Wade overturn had a lot to do with the GOP's poor performance in the midterms. Back in August, Kansas voted on a state constitutional amendment that would have denied the right to an abortion, and they rejected it by a pretty strong margin.

While it's true that the Roe v. Wade overturn does leave abortion to the states, as some conservatives say, the fact that the GOP is widely (and correctly) associated with being anti-abortion. Nor did it help that a number of GOP candidates, like Mastriano and Dixon, wanted to prohibit abortion even in cases of rape and incest. That's farther than even most conservatives are comfortable with.

I'm very excited about that. America needs a strong president who has a spine.

Trump was awful and literally incited a riot to overthrow the government.

I think Biden is a disappointment but at least he's not Trump.

Trumpty Dumpty, like Brandon, is an old geezer (I should talk) Both should be residing in a nursing home, or better yet, 6 feet underground in a wooden coffin, rather than 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, NW

That is more disappointing than a pixar version of The Last Unicorn.

but perhaps he will help divide the right wing vote so we get another democrat after Biden.
