The whole point was to show the left-wing bias in Twitter through censorship, and the released conversations by the staff heavily support this.

So if there are no hard facts, is it about censorship? Or just avoiding misinformation?

Granted, Twitter's built mostly off of gossip and hearsay, which is another reason it will always be a cancer on the Internet regardless of who's in charge. But I'll give them credit for making an attempt, however half-assed.
