Hi:
I found out recently that a former friend of mine works in another department where I work next to being affiliated with our community partners. I really want space from this former friend because he tends to behave like a narcissist and I don't like the way he talks to me. Therefore, I don't care to engage with him.

Another reason why I don't want to associate with him is because I feel like he has an interesting perspective of me as well as other people on the spectrum. Now I am willing to accept how he feels about me, all the while getting to have my own opinion about me. Otherwise, I don't have time to associate with him.

I hope he gives you the space you need.

I think the agreement is mutual because he knows I won't put up with his with the way he talks to and treats me. What I don't like is that we sometimes have to cross paths because we work in similar departments. Just being around him triggers a lot of anger for me. However, I know that I have a right to my own feelings while I know I am not in control.
