/\That’s wonderful news!
I rearranged some of my house plants and snipped off dead leaves, tidied them up.
My outside garden is now covered in sleet and another round tomorrow.

Sweet Breath of Spring blooming along with Witch Hazel now.I picked some boughs and brought in for fragrance.
New plants in mail, like Christmas in Spring or an extra birthday!
Wet outside so I will start off some kale, collards and chard seed.

If we don’t have another frost, I will get some mangoes. The Pickering is in full bloom and the Maja Chinook is sporting some flowering stalks.

And…the jaboticaba is blooming!

My daughter sent some photos of the botanical garden in Puerto Vallarta.Wow.
A lady on the bus told them she goes there weekly. You could wander around for hours and be amazed.
I’ve been to the ones in Saint Louis and San Fransisco. Both were wonderful.

My little garden sucks. Not enough sun gets into it.

And I have a clay thumb, which more than offsets my wife's green thumb.

Kale is sprouting .Got some Irish Cobbler seed potatoes at store.
Daffodils popping up out of the ground.
Honey bees were out on the Sweet Breath of Spring shrub.
Still more downed tree limbs to clear up.
Battling soil fungus gnats inside.

Lantana is an invasive weed where I live.
It grows as big as a small tree.
It's root systems spread further than the top side.
It poisons cattle and suppresses growth of plants nearby.
It's quite flammable, even when green, so it fuels bushfires.
Also, it has weird, abrasive branches that can scratch you up quite badly.

Wow at all the colors! Yellow daffodils here.
Lantana dies back to the ground here and some varieties are not hardy.Mine gets around three feet tall then the freeze comes.

Sounds like me and Lantana have a lot in common then. :skull:

It is always covered in butterflies and pollinators , deer don’t eat it and it never needs water.
I have to mulch mine to get it to return, not sure if it will this year.It went below zero for several days.
I have giant multi flora roses and wisteria that I battle yearly. One day I’ll die and they will take over the place.
At least it will smell good.

I love multi floral roses and wisteria, but it is too warm here for them. I miss them. I also miss lilacs and clematis.

We have one invasive lantana; the native lantanas are small and a bit dainty.

In Florida, we imported melaleuca from Australia to dry up the swamps, and it has become a damaging pest ecologically. Here, pond apple is a quiet well behaved small tree in the swamps, but in Australia, as I understand it, pond apple is a destructive plant.
