research papers I have read confirm this also, and also higher suicide rates (4x as high) for autistic women.
Probably a connection there in feeling trapped and not being able to imagine alternatives?
I may be applying personal experience to that theory, until I got therapy and a counselor I had no idea I could choose any alternative reactions to those around me besides the ones I had learned in my abused childhood. My autism kept me from seeing on my own that I had alternatives.
