But isn't there only a limited amount of space on a disc? Is what you just said because the disc has only a fixed amount of space that cannot change?

I still also would like to know how a physical copy of something worth $100 is still "cheaper" than streaming? Because $100 is a lot of money lost if you use it to buy something immediately.

I would also like to direct you to this video, which shows that things can indeed be taken from you legally. While it doesn't mention physical media directly, I would think that it's perfectly acceptable for the police to take those items away from you. Here's the video:
