Lady, I don't know you, and I sure as hell ain't staying with you.

I think you got just a lil' too excited. I'm not getting involved with you, you're not my type.

lol nope.
I’m not excited by you.

I’ve had some bad partners so I know what I would do. Just sayin.

Here’s some musical accompaniment.

Not my cup of tea (mine is right here, I'm drinking it).

Fun thread though.

Just so happens I’ve had that song in my head all day, but hadn’t played it yet.

It was like scratching an itch.

That’s not usually my type of music and I don’t know anything else by Beyoncé, but I love Irreplaceable. It’s perfect for one of my former gaslighting aholes despite the fact he left me for a man rather than a chick. He told me I’d never be able replace him as he tried to steal my car, pawned my kids’ electronics, sued me for support, and later killed my dog.

I’m having a Hootie-and-the-Blowfish-inspired day of flashbacks.

Chivalry rocks.

Not interested in checking it out TBF. Also, Beyonce strikes me as someone who might have something against white men she never met. Just a hunch.

Just confirming:

Chivalry doesn’t include punishing people for misbehaviour or treating them as lower class citizens.

I’d say it’s alive and well.

I know lots of people who live by these standards.

I know it is alive. So the man gets the couch every time, simply for existing or being looked at the wrong way.

But it ought to be dead. 8)

No problem.
I just felt like hearing it.

Since I know nothing about her and I try my best not to judge people, she doesn’t strike me as anything but a successful singer.

That doesn’t mean she hasn’t had bad experiences with exploitation, or that she’s racist.

I don’t think it’s chivalrous for the man to get the couch every time.

A chivalrous woman would ensure that it’s fair or 50/50.

She’d likely have a really comfy couch, anyway.

We have a very comfy couch here. Some nights, when the fire’s going and it’s two sets of stairs up to the bedroom, we’re both tempted to spend the night there.

I’m quite enjoying mine by the fire too.

Agreed.

It’s all my fault I’m sure.

I suspect psychology students drop into WP threads to see ADHD in action. We all go way off topic

My mind connects ideas and memories so quickly, it’s impossible for me to be completely linear. I think I did a decent job of staying on topic with this thread though.

I never really understood non-linear thinking....but I suspect I do it too
