Queensland records highest rate of youth reoffending

New data from a Productivity Commission report shows Queensland has the highest rate of youth reoffending in Australia.

Queensland is one of only three jurisdictions to have recorded an increase in youth detention over the last decade, with an incarceration rate almost double the national average.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says a range of new youth crime legislation is being drafted and will be ready to present to Parliament when it sits in February.
