The reason why these are stereotypes....is because it's true in a few cases, but not true in most cases.

It's harmful for a short man, say, to feel he is "unattractive" merely because he is short. This is an untrue statement, absolutely.

Same with a tall woman being assumed to be "unattractive" because she is tall.

It’s better to be a tall woman than a short man.

Not according to some tall women I've known....

In essence....it doesn't matter who "has it harder." The people who "have it harder" have to at least try to make it "less hard" for themselves.

Did you know that tall fathers tend to have tall daughters and short mothers have short sons and vice versa.

Yeah...I knew that. But certainly not always.

I had a short mother. I came out short, but my brother came out average height. I'm about 12 cm shorter than my brother.

My younger brother is 4 or maybe 4.5 inches taller than me at 6ft range. My mom was 5ft2 when she was younger and my dad MIGHT have been 5ft11 in his prime.

My mother was 5 foot 1 1/2. My father was 5 foot 10, so is my brother.

My father said, when I was 17, that I have to "deal with it," that I'm not going to get any taller than 5 foot 4 3/4. And that turned out to be the truth.

I liked it that he told the truth.

If your brother is 5ft10 that would make him a bit more than 12cm taller than you. 10cm is 4 inches for example

At 17 you still had some time to grow although i am 33 but I think I shrunk a fraction already. Maybe to many years of heavy lifting could be the cause.

Yep....he's 14 cm taller than me. Big deal! He's my older brother.

He was taller than my adult height when he was 13, perhaps even 12.

I didn't grow after I turned 17.

I think if I slept better growing up I could have been not far of my dads height maybe.

If you grew up in a middle-class environment, even a working-class environment with decent nutrition, you probably achieved your optimum height.

I would have came out 5 foot 4 3/4 had I had the best nutrition, etc. I grew up working/middle-class.

Yeah that’s probably true

Some people are medium sized people who have shorter legs and torso. They wear the same clothes as everyone else but buy shorter pants. That is more true with caucasions who are taller than average. I would say that is the case with Tom Cruise. He probably wears a large shirt and has a 34 inch waist. Sure some people are smaller all around but it is not always the case. There are lots and lots of people who are shorter or taller because of length of legs. The classic short white guy probably just has short legs.

Meh, people like what they like. If one person doesn't like 'em short, then another might. Even midgets find love.

I think Frodo is a handsome hobbit, even if he is short. 8)
