Canada is hardly a "Commie enclave." And even if it were, that would be no reason for Canada to welcome pootin, given that Russia is no longer much of a "Commie enclave" either. In any case, Canada–Russia relations aren't exactly the greatest these days.

It's revolting, but also typical of the era and area. That doesn't make it defensible, but it just shows how far some places had to come from to get to where things are now.
