The worst of the problems, off the top of my head…

1. View recent/your posts

This is a table with 6-ish columns. All the information, including some that should be hidden entirely in mobile mode (priorities only for small screens please!) are in the first column. Two thirds of the screen is empty. Only one and a half entries fits on the screen. That is not a table at all.

2. Link to last post in thread

In both the above mentioned list modes and the forum tables, clicking on the post takes you to the beginning of the thread rather than the end. Even if you click on the last post entry in the forums.

3. Next page please

There is no page navigation thingy at the bottom of pages. When you get to the bottom of a page, you have to scroll to the top to see the next page link.

4. Too small, too close

Text links and some of the buttons are too small and too close together in mobile mode. Fwiw Google actually detects this and automatically deranks the site.

The site isn't under active development, hasn't been for many years. It is effectively "abandonware". Very unlikely changes for mobile will be made IMHO.

Alex has actually recently posted here, so it's not like he's actually vanished off the face of the earth. You'd have thought he could improve the site a little, fixing all the bugs and making it more mobile-friendly.

Changes made to improve the usability on mobile platforms has been a fully justifiable request for a very long time, alas with nothing forthcoming.

Unfortunately there is nothing "improve the site a little" about implementing better functionality on mobile platforms - phpBB is from a different, desktop-centric time.
