Debt collectors breaking into vulnerable peoples' homes

I was rather shocked upon hearing about gas company debt collectors deciding to break into the homes of vulnerable people when payments are overdue. It has made my blood boil. I just think to myself ''Is this what the world has come to now ?''.

I have been a bit sick of hearing about price rises, strikes and so on going on. I just think surely things can't as terrible as previous struggles in the past like for example, the aftermath of the Second World War when the UK was almost bankrupt and rationing was still in place for 10 years long after the war. I've said before I'd stop watching the news but obviously I can't seem to cut myself off completely from it as I am still hearing about it even by scrolling on my phone or by word-of-mouth.
