I'm sort of feeling as though I shouldn't really care how many people are on my ''friends'' list on social media or how many followers I have. So what if you don't have such a large following of people, surely that shouldn't make you look as unpopular or unlikable as its been made out to be. I'm a bit worried that this may come across as though I'm misanthropic when I just for a moment felt like venting.

social media is a cancer. full stop. if you are socialising with people that think you are weird because you have no friends on social media, then you have problems. a lot of very successful, popular people quit social media because of what it is. if you look at how many "friends" a person really has, they may only have a handful. they may only have one, their husband or wife. how many do YOU need? i would be more than happy with only one. one person that could love me. you may be a shallow person. look at your behaviour and question things.

Now I have just over 2000 subscribers. Now I am looking for effective and efficient ways to increase the number of subscribers.

This reminds me of a forum post from a different site many years ago that was titled more or less, according to my parents none of you people are real. The parents did have a point of sorts. Nobody knows who is behind most of the accounts they encounter. The whole idea of having massive subscriber counts for any reason other than attracting endorsement deals seems really strange to me personally.

Just because somebody has millions of followers doesn't mean that half of them aren't bots or spammers.
