Following the recent major tennis tournament held in Melbourne, the Australian Open, popular Belorussian born tennis player Victoria Azarenka was asked about pro-Russian protests held in the stands during games.

Azeranka blasted reporters correctly accusing them of trying cover politics at a sport event and threw support to Australian open Champion, Serbian Novak Djokovic who'se father was captured supporting pro-Russian supporters

Tennis champion and world number 1 Novak Djokovic was also dragged into Russian politics when his father was photographed with pro-Russian supporters in the stands. The unnecessary backlash mean't his father was forced to not come to the stands to support his son.

Both Azarenka and Djokovic are correct. Why are tennis players being asked to throw their support behind the war against Russia??

Anyone watching the Australian Open will notice that Russian and Belorussian players could not play under their national flags which were blanked out (white) on screens. propaganda at it's best.

People complain about governments giving in to wokeness yet remain strangely quiet about how the Ukraine war is now impacting domestic sports events half a world away?

Please keep external politics out of our domestic sports events. It's absolute cringe.
