I had a tambourine that I liked, too. I also had a toy piano which I really loved. It got broken when I had a hyper friend over for a sleepover. I was very upset.

I was excited to get my first little record player when I was in first grade.
Vinyl albums did the trick for me rather than playing an instrument.
I liked to dance around like a spazz with strobe lights, likely because of my ADHD.

My brother's friends and I used to take our shirts off and pretend to swim across the linoleum floor.

The swimming songs were:

Oh wow. The memories are so strong I can smell them.

I used to slow dance with a support beam for this:

I started on piano (I was never any good at it.

In 4th grade, I started learning the clarinet. Sadly, I gave it up over 20 years ago, no thanks to carpal tunnel syndrome (that’s what I got for banding on a computer keyboard over my career in I.T. For 25 years.

When I got to college, I started voice lessons, which is the only type of music making this lyric tenor does nowadays.

That’s pretty cool. I’m a mezzo-soprano.

Oh, for sure I would. I wouldn't know anything about pianos other than if I like the colour lol.

What are digital pianos? I thought they were just keyboards which sound like piano but are they actually full-size?
What's the advantage? I'm assuming they cost more? Or maybe they aren't made of wood so they cost less?

Sorry for being so clueless but I have no idea and figured you could explain it better than google.

Did anyone else have one of these as a kid?

Happy birthday was the first tune I learned to play.

Digital pianos are keyboards that are full-sized and have fully weighted keys. They feel close to a regular piano.

They don’t need to be tuned, and they will sound nicer than cheap pianos.

Mine cost around $2000, but there are decent ones for $700 (including stand and accessories).

Another pro with a digital piano is that you can play with headphones. I will continue to use my digital for this reason.

A con is that they still won’t sound or feel as nice as a good, acoustic piano, but sometimes they come reasonably close.

I got a banjo the other day. I've always liked the sound of them (although I'm not really into "banjo music"), but I've never had one before. It's interesting, and it feels a little easier on my busted hand than the guitar. I'm not really playing it yet, so much as getting acquainted with it and getting my hands moving/mind working again.

Piano. Well, only with one hand. I have a keyboard at home where I play tunes with my right hand and control the background drum rhythms with my left hand, and make a good 2-3-minute song.

I'd love to record them where only the sounds from the keyboard get recorded without picking up other sounds. Then I can post them here for you guys. :)

I play tenor sax. I was semi-pro for a number of years, nearly gave up my day job, but the day job was easier. I’ve played every type of sax (except bass sax, very niche) and gigged sometimes with a baritone… that really is an experience.

I also play bass guitar (mostly fretless for the benefit of arthriticky fingers) as it’s easier to get a local gig without having to take it too seriously.

I play a flute for fun, (easy) classical and baroque, although I’ve also gigged with it on occasion.

I’ve always wanted to play the harp and pan flute.
