thank you Isabella
i am sure you have talents that you have barely scratched the surface of. sometimes later in life they finally get a chance to come out into the sunshine.
Nah, I'm not putting myself down. I just don't think I could do an instrument. I stim with my hands too much. I wouldn't be able to hold an instrument without letting go.
I like touching the keyboard on a laptop because that's stimmy and I can touch-type, but organ / piano keys are too far apart. Plus you have to sit on a bench / chair, neither of which I do.
I'm content to be a listener.
I understand the mathematics of musical notation but nothing about pitch. I think I'm even tone deaf.
@TP - Yes, I'm sure it was years of hard work and well worth it.
My daughter played cello for years and she bought herself an acoustic guitar recently. She's had a rough time because her skin on her hands is really bad from autoimmune, but she's plucking along and learning quickly. She plays piano quite well although I seldom get to hear it. She used to be in musical theatre productions as a child and sometimes had singing solos.
My DIL plays concert-level piano.
I really should get one.
