Just in case anyone is wondering if the Dr. Ho home TENS machines are any good.. they are. I've used Very Expensive ones at a physiotherapist's and wondered if the Dr. Ho unit would be cheap useless crap in comparison. I thought they might be weak sauce, but, they are not.. even gradually turning up the intensity I've only been able to go up to around 75-80%, then dialled back to 60% or so.. currently have it set around 65-70% on the lower back setting w/ a pair of the large pads and when certain wavelengths hit it's pretty intense. Definitely works as advertised and not a "toy," that's too weak to do anything.

For anyone that doesn't know what these things do - basically they're electrode pads that zap ya in specific wave forms to stimulate muscles & blood flow to reduce/eliminate pain and expedite healing. The science is legit, versions of these things are used by physiotherapists for a reason. I experienced benefits using them in their office, as well as using this one at home the last few days. No need to spend Big $$ on a top of the line one, as apparently they can go up to around $600. The Dr. Ho pro sells for $214.99cdn at Costco (cheapest) + tax so around $250. I bought a new-in-box one at a flea market for 80 bucks. Definitely content with my purchase. 8)

Is it true that some people use TENS devices to stimulate libidinous feelings as well?

I have heard rumors that certain waveforms at certain frequencies, when induced from one leg to the other will stimulate the (*ahem*) reproductive area just enough to induce physical desire. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Is it real?

Have not heard of that before and I've heard of a lot of kinky things. I suppose it's possible to stimulate blood flow like that. MOST of what I'm aware of are guys taking unprescribed viagra or cialis. Heard of the existence of penis pumps, but never heard of someone using one of these like that.

It's not specifically on the list of precautions lol but I'm don't think I'd wanna Directly zap my junk. One leg to the other Might be safe enough, though.

You're not supposed to place the electrode pads anywhere near your heart, especially not across it. Also not directly on your spine. Not 100% sure if you can place it anywhere on your chest/back near your heart At All - I think the idea is to be above or below. Back of neck, deltoids, shoulders, abs, lower back etc. Not supposed to use them anywhere on your head/face/throat either.

Just checked the pad placement guide - thought it might show placement for groin specific injuries, but it doesn't.. just thigh, sciatica, hip etc but doesn't show anything for groin or placement on both legs like that. Closest it gets for a recommended placement is both sides of the lower back, each side of the spine - safe there as long as you're not On the spine.

Checked the guide - no specific cautions against zapping across your junk to get a boner.. so, maybe it's safe enough and people do it ? :?

edit:

I mean, the intensity can be dialled right down low.. so I suppose it Could be done safely. Not sure I wanna conduct the experiment for science' sake though!

Turns out I know someone who has tried it.

There were only 4 of us left at the fire last night and one of the random topics we jumped to was back pain as one guy has been off work a couple years after a work injury. He felt like being in motion anyways and treated us to a fire spinning show - super cool.

Anyways, then we were talking TENS as I'd just bought one. I asked if he'd ever put one either side of his groin.. answer = Yes. I think the scenario was that his girlfriend wanted to find out if the machine would do some work she didn't have to or something along those lines, so, he tried it out.. end result he said it was basically the same as placing it on any other muscle and he could feel it zap his junk but it didn't make blood rush to the area, get him aroused, or feel particularly pleasurable - much the same as just zapping any muscle with it.

So, now we know from at least one person who's actually tried to do it.

Did he try that with the Dr. Ho machine

Did he try that with the Dr. Ho machine

It was a different brand TENS machine that he claims works better even though it costs less - who knows; maybe the settings on it do work better for him.

But yeah.. I see your point.. maybe it didn't work because it wasn't a Ho.
