not til may but his friends are organising a party vacation for 5 days in tenerif.he wants me to come and yes id do anything to be with my son but i know it will be hell for me and im worried i might have a meltdown not just in clubs but at any time on the vacation

hopefully my partner will come so i will have someone to be with instead of in clubs but my son wants me to come to at least one

his friends see me as a hot mum so im not keen on having a load of teenage boys swooning around me

i wish his friends hadnt organised something this extravagant but i suppose it will mean a vacation and i can enjoy the beach and shopping and dressing up and stuff

Odd. Most 18-year-olds would be trying to get away from their parents.

Glad you got it out of the way. It is not unusual for a teenager to invite their mum along to their birthday bash. When my (popular NT) cousin turned 18 she had a big birthday party in a hall that her friends had booked for her, and along with lots of friends she'd also invited her mum, dad and aunt along too. Her dad made all her friends laugh when he'd had a few drinks and got dancing on the dancefloor, and her mum and aunt chatted to some of her friends then left earlier than the others.
