Well, I live in Florida and I know nothing of this, though I would not be surprised.

that guy is scary, he has trumpy's ability to rabblerouse and he is smart and competent, and combined with his meanness he can do damage that trumpy couldn't even conceive. it's not enough for him that he is systematically "cleansing" florida of LGBTQ and their parents, he wants to do this nationwide.

I wonder why the federal government hasnt stepped in?

Frankly I hope he gets stupid and arrogant enough to pull a Fort Sumpter on the country and I want to see the Federal government step in and kick his ass up and down the Florida coastline from my own backyard.

Bologna, he just doesn't want descriptions of sexual encounters in the books available to kids in school libraries. And he does advocate for literature that promotes unity vs. the constant theme of "you done me wrong, now it's time to pay up!"
Somehow you've jumped that up to stripping LGBTQs and blacks of their rights. It's funny that the left is constantly accusing the right of hyperbole, but the left is so hyperbolic.

I'm not the left and I think you're the one who is full of it. Tell me, what's your real agenda behind wanting gay children coming out like I once was to be subjected to bullying in the class room like they did in the not-so-good 'ol days?

I still remember them days and it was people just like you who were probably responsible for my depression and suicide attempts because I was taught there was something "wrong with me".

There are public libraries and there are book stores. If the kids want to read those books on their own time, it's readily available.
I work with kids, in a Title l school in Jacksonville, Fl. Very violent and not a great deal of positive role models, they are lucky if they can read. They aren't going to get ahold of a book about a baseball player who experienced racism and say, "hmmm, what can I do to make this better?" If they can read, they are going to seek out a kid who reminds them of the type of people the author described in his book and beat the living daylights out of them. I see it everyday.

Is that what you think is fitting? Because if it is then I ask you if your motives are as pure as you claim they are? These are not adults taking in this information, these are children. And they are going to process this information as children. Children are in school for a reason, it's not just for 'book learnin'.' It's also for behavioral instruction, it serves no one to allow children to believe that violence serves them in any way other than self-defense.

Same with the soft porn literature... ridiculous.

Maybe the same thing you're implying about me, for simply supporting Desantis' decision to not support school libraries in providing books that have the possibility of inciting violence or describing sexual activity. There's plenty of time for those things in adulthood, they'll hear all about it, I promise you.
