I'm looking forward to go walking in the woods again, I didn't have much spare time lately due to having to take care of my ill mother

I think I've just solved my Anxiety Disorder.
I'll listen to this on headphones, and stare at this picture every second for the rest of my life.

Seriously, how did I not think of sound and visual comfort to calm my anxiety?
I've been doing scent and texture, and tons of avoidance, but hadn't found my Zen.

Yesterdays walk in the woods. I prefer a broadleaf woodland in general, particularly on a hot day, but I'll wander among the pines quite happily.

I thought black snakes were just flat black with a white belly.

Those diamond shaped markings might mean its like a melanistic copperhead or like that.

Nope.Nothing like a copperhead. Some black snakes do have a bit of markings , some are flat black.
Trust me, my yard is snakey.
