Working retail with sensory issues
Anyone else?
It's hell sometimes. My noise reduction earplugs are an amazing help, but with this remodel currently going on they only help so much.
Earlier a customer came through my line and commented that customers must not be being very nice to me today - in other words she could tell I wasn't feeling well. But customers have been fine today .... Just feel overwhelmed sensory wise.
I wonder if there are extra accommodations I could ask for ....

I worked retail before I was Dx (and didn't know about sensory issues). I couldn't understand why sometimes I was frazzled after a shift and just thought I was lazy and couldn't handle working. I thought eventually it would get easier
Accommodations? Hopefully someone in your country will be able to answer that.
