Why people can tell me stuff that I already know?

1) Because they do not know that you already know what they know.

2) Because they enjoy the sound of their own voices.

3) Because it makes them feel 'special'.

In my experience lots of times it's because people assume I do not know things I do. However they also don't tell me things I wish they would of because they assume I know it.

Sounds like my sister, she told me something that I already know. Does she ever think I might already know it.

I find this behavior occurs often in Christian churches -- people assume that I am new convert, and therefore in great need of "being fed baby food" when it comes to Christian theology, eschatology, homiletics, and the process of exegesis.  Then they start trying to teach me the same lessons I learned as a five-year-old in Sunday School.

It is sort of like trying to teach Gary Gygax how to roll dice.

In my case it's sometimes due to others not understanding my own individual strenghs & weaknesses. I sometimes do things or not do things for reasons other than me not understanding.
