I know this one guy from the pub and although we are friends his girlfriend and I did not always get a long.

Recently I texted him and he texted me back a selfie of him and his gf in a car. His girlfriend had her middle finger stuck up in the photo when looking at the camera.

Do you think this means his girlfriend girlfriends dislikes me or am I overthinking this?

Unless you know that the photo was taken just before he sent it to you and the GF knew if was a selfie being texted to you then you are overthinking it.

What you've got to ask yourself is , did I have this picture already saved or did I just take it especially for you?

Yeah that's a possibility it could have been a saved photo that he took earlier but then again maybe not....guess I will to ask next time I see him.

Ohh... isn't it a couple of lovely toxic people... run away, I say. Run tf away!

edited: It doesn't matter how old the image is, the friend chose to send it, knowing full well his GF and OP did not get along. To me, that's a line that should not have been crossed.

Depending on the device you have, you may be able to check the metadata of the photo to see when the photo was taken , it the date of the photo was not the day he sent it to you then the bird was almost certainly not aimed at you at the time of the photo.

1-2 years ago at the pub his girlfriend smashed a glass of over my mate Robbie (her boyfriends) head and tried to pin the blame on me.

Sometimes the middle finger is a greeting between friends, usually men.

In this case however, because she doesn't like you anyway and tried to pin blame on you, I'd say she is being nasty and keep away from her.

She smashed the glass because her boyfriend was chatting up younger barmaids. I said to his girlfriend that "you must be tolerant to put up with his flirting" . She alleged that comment I made caused her to assult her boyfriend with a glass basically using me as a scapegoat.

Dude! Do you even know what the man code is?

Never tell your mate's GF he is chatting someone up unless you want a shitstorm. You are lucky he is still your friend.

No before I made the comment she was complaining to me about her boyfriends flirting in which I responded "You must be tolerant"

It always has been and always will be 'Pals before Gals' or 'Besties before Testies'.

She obviously got the words "tolerant" and "violent" mixed up.
