FBI shoots and kills Utah man wanted for threats against Biden, Manhattan DA

Quote:
The FBI shot and killed a Utah man on Wednesday while trying to arrest him for threatening to murder President Joe Biden and the New York district attorney who is prosecuting former President Donald Trump in connection with hush money payments, NBC News reported.

Many other politicians were also allegedly threatened by the man, Provo resident Craig Deleeuw Robertson, who was accused in court documents of vowing to retaliate against the FBI during an investigation.

Court documents say the FBI described Robertson as a white man “approximately 70-75 years old” who was surveilled “wearing a dark suit (later observed as having an AR-15 style rifle lapel pin attached), a white shirt, a red tie, and a multi-colored (possibly camouflage) hat bearing the word “TRUMP” on the front.”

Robertson was fatally shot by at least one FBI agent at 6:15 a.m. in Provo, about 12 hours before Biden was due to visit the state in Salt Lake City No agents were injured.

“The incident began when special agents attempted to serve arrest and search warrants at a residence,”
the FBI said in a statement. “The subject is deceased.”

The shooting is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division.

A felony complaint against Robertson filed in U.S. District Court in Utah charged him with making threats against the president, making interstate threats, and influencing, impeding, and retaliating against federal law enforcement officers by threat.

Who Is Craig Robertson? Man Killed by FBI After Threatening Biden
Quote:
According to records obtained by Newsweek, Robertson was a registered Republican.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Newsweek, on Monday, Robertson posted on social media that he was planning to clean "the dust off the m24 sniper rifle," ahead of Biden's scheduled trip to Utah on Wednesday.

"I therefore believe this is knowing and willful true threat to kill or cause injury to President Biden using an M24 sniper rifle while being concealed by a ghillie suit during President Biden's visit to Utah," an FBI agent involved in the investigation wrote in the criminal complaint relating to the post on Monday.

n a post from 2022, Robertson wrote, "The time is right for a presidential assassination or two. First Joe then Kamala!! !" the criminal complaint said.

The criminal complaint also featured a number of posts from Robertson that showcased an array of different guns and other weapons. In addition to the threats made against Biden, Robertson also allegedly made remarks toward Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the FBI.

"To my friends in Federal Bureau of Idiots: I know you're reading this and you have no idea how close your agents came to 'bang,'" another post included in the complaint said.

If you're going to shoot, shoot; don't talk.

The Good, The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly is one of my all time favorite westerns.
To the thread - - this is a case when one should not have tried shooting at all.

Yeah, nobody wants President Kamala.

As much as I don't want Biden hurt, I fail to understand the hate and loathing directed at his VP.

She's brown, liberal woman. That seems to be enough for a lot of people.

I've predicted here for months that we're going to see more of trumplestiltskin's stochastic terrorism come to life activating his radicalized cult members who are barely hanging onto reality by a thread due to whatever mental health issues they're afflicted by.

This guy went out similarly to that moron that took an AR-15 to the front lawn of a Cincinnati FBI field office and got turned into pink mist. Different scenario - presidential assassination threat vs. attacking the FBI.. but same result: Another cult 45 member gone whacko and got splattered by the FBI.

There will be more. I just hope no one else is harmed in the process by any of these shooters or bombers or poisoners etc, not politicians or their staff, nor law enforcement forced into the sh***y situation of having to have a lethal standoff with these people who've long since lost their minds and are either going to lose their freedom or their lives.

ashli babbitt, Cincinnati lawn waterer, Utah assassin.. someone should start a running list of cult 45 members who die for their batshit crazy beliefs. I bet the list continues to grow - especially if trump is allowed to continue lying on social media, winding these mentally incapacitated people up to the point that they snap and go do things to get themselves killed.

Do you find her to have any qualifications for office at all beyond the color and configuration of what's in her pants? That she's managed to fail upwards as far as she has is yet another testament to the progressive fixation on identity to the exclusion of all else, I've yet to see a single defense of her that doesn't involve calling her critics bigots of one sort or another.

Amazing what you'll cheer for when the jackboot is on your preferred neck, isn't it? If you read the reports on this guy, they'd been watching him for a while and could have grabbed him many times when he was out and about, but instead they chose the tactical team at dawn because they wanted a message sent.

I don't particularly care for her, but that doesn't mean much of the non-specific gnashing of teeth over her doesn't seem to have particularly defensible motives.

When they had to shoot, they shot and didn't talk. I figured you were a fan of such decisive action.

I just gave you one that you didn't dispute, she's completely unqualified and only there because of her identity (and she's been terrible on policy, regardless of what side of the aisle you sit on to boot).

They didn't have to shoot, they had to grab a septuagenarian who'd been shooting his mouth off on the internet, which you'd think they could manage without kicking in his door at dawn, a tactic I'd think you'd disapprove of.

How do you know that? Were you there? Are you trained in FBI use of force protocols? :?

A 70 something year old with a gun is every bit a lethal threat as a 17 or 27 year old. The perpetrator’s age is irrelevant.

Well... in this land of free speech and gun ownership,,,,,there might need to be some latitude I think, if this guy
was just at home being a threatening loudmouth, and a pro trumpette. Good or better judgement might be necessary
before executing criminal warrants. At dawn or sometime that is outside of business hours? Did this guy have an active history of violent criminal behaviour . And with all the contrasting stuff that ocurred around the mental indoctrination around trump and supporters... Cooler heads needed to prevail .
Have seen this unexpected activity by law enforcement based on conjecture and rumour..costing lost of life .1st hand
The cost of presidential protection vs civil rights if the individual??. Wouldn't it have been better and saved a life
if the FBI if the just did a stake out during the time if Bidens visit? Who knows if he was. a serious threat ,he might of had co - conspirators and might have gotten a lead on other potential subversives, if Any? Why does this not occur
to any people in charge? ..... 8O . Situation actually made no sense to me . Other than to incite fear in
society(possibly only trump opinion type supporters). But in a free country having a contrary opinion to the popular, means a death sentence by FBI .??? . This guy paid the ultimate price . People making these bad decisions
consistently seem to be the ones in charge . This brings to mind some of the warnings the founding fathers of this country made about Government over reach. When political officials have to start killing people in order to maintain
their hold on the popular opinion they create.(especially considering the civil rights imbued upon these same people)
*************************************************************************************
FYI [ am no supporter of Trump, but do support all civil rights offered by the USA,And respect them as I would in any Country in any part of the world]

Government violence  - it's called Law & Order, administered against perpetrators who've put themselves into positions where law enforcement agencies' training requires them to use lethal force to neutralize a threat to themselves and/or the perpetrator's intended target(s).

Why should some whacko threatening to assassinate President Biden be treated with kid gloves when the FBI goes to apprehend him? Surely they took his threats seriously and went in guns drawn. Dude probably aimed a weapon at an agent, aka f****d around and found out.

Still waiting on the positive case for Kamala...

Not sure why you consider this relevant, but here are my thoughts about Kamela Harris:

1) She was previously a U.S. senator, thus has had at least some experience (much more experience than, say, Trump) with being an elected official at the federal level.

2) She had previously worked as prosecutor. Having been a lawyer, she is much more familiar with the law than politicians who have not been lawyers are.

3) She had also been a somewhat reform-minded prosecutor. Thus I suspect that Biden chose her not merely because of being a woman of color, but as part of the Democratic Party's response to both Black Lives Matter and the backlash against BLM. I suspect that she, having been a reform-minded prosecutor, might have been seen as a person who could champion reasonable compromises between the law-and-order crowd and those calling for drastic changes to law enforcement.
