My cousin is 15 and has autism.

Apparently my cousin attacked my aunt (his mother) and his dad (my uncle) punched him as a result.

Do you think maybe the father should have been a bit more understanding to his difficulties or not?

We weren't there to witness it so we don't know.

Someone attacks someone else generally probably deserves to catch a punch for it.

Depends on the nature of the attack as well as the resulting punch in defence of the mother as to whether it was an appropriate response and use of force or not - and since none of us witnessed it, we cannot say for sure.

But in general, attack a woman and you deserve to get punched for it. IMO.

We have no context to answer this question about the father. Nevertheless, I don't think it's that relevant.
In my opinion, the only thing they should would be to seek outside help.
Hitting your autistic child gives very bad results and the fact that he hits another member of his family is an alarm signal.

I'd say that one has far more ability to be understanding when they're not forced to immediately respond to a violent assault against their spouse.

I don't know how vicious the attack was, I don't know how forceful the punch was, but in that instant your uncle had to pick the course of action was most likely to lead to an overall decrease how violent that situation would become.

Generally speaking, I'd prefer for soft techniques over hard techniques but sometimes a punch or a smack serves as more of a warning than a genuine escalation.

The physical contact ultimately serves as a means of taking the aggressive party's attention, forcing them to assess this new physical confrontation that's about to unfold; with the ultimate goal being to force the aggressive party to just cease their aggression.

That's a sexist comment. What about if a woman attacks a man who did not do much to provokr her? Would she not deserve to get punched as well.

And don't even get me started on your unfair views about acid revenge attacks.

Females can have workplace & pay equity and all that, but nothing changes that cis gendered males are bigger and stronger and should be protective vs. aggressive towards them. Hit a woman, get hit.

As for women hitting men.. like a bouncer I used to work with used to say "Act like a man, get treated like a man." A woman punched him in the face, so, he punched her in the face. Thing is, it was hard enough to make her stop and realize she should Not hit him again, but not hard enough to break her face/teeth etc even though he could have knocked her head off. Even in those situations, there's an appropriate level of force to use for self defence/deterrence without going overboard and causing serious injuries or worse.

I told you when you pm'd me about it - I don't care about an acid attack that happened somewhere near you. It doesn't interest me At All. I can't be bothered to watch a news thing about it as I simply do not care. It didn't happen to me or anyone I know or near me etc so I simply don't care about some thing that happened half a world away to people I don't know and will never interact with.
