Ok so NASA have labelled Maussan a hoaxer

So what was David Graves (witness from the Washington Hearings on UAPs) doing at the hearing? Why is the Mexican government resurrecting a hoax? why is Maussan so confident as to present them again knowing it is very easy to debunk?

On top of this is the archaeological significance, they are supposed to be 1000 years old. Somebody is paying to keep them preserved. Even if it turns out to be man-made, what were ancient mexicans doing making replicas of greys 1000 years ago?

I know this is likely to be debunked but curious at motives of all involved.

Maybe they weren’t “replicas” of aliens. Maybe they were representations of gods of some sort. Maybe they were created to appease the local deities if they are 1000 years old.

This presumes they are replicas of 'greys' to begin with.

It seems unlikely that a society around 1000 years ago was familiar with a fictional race invented in the 1890s, which makes it very unlikely that that society was making fan-art of said fictional race.

It's like finding a neolithic dildo and insisting it must be the Buck Rogers spaceship instead of looking for a more mundane explanation (dildo, pestle, probably not a toy rocket ship considering the society had never conceived of rocketry).

All seems elementary yet the mummies have been doing the rounds in the public eye now 6 years and yet they are still being taken seriously. You would think once the jig was up in 2017 they would have been wrapped up and buried (pardon the intentional pun) not being paraded around being challenged to debunk?.

Its still 1852 in Mexico. In the 1850's a New England farmer "found" the petrified body of a giant human made of stone. The local papers dubbed the astonishing "discovery" the "Cardiff Giant". And the farmer took it on tour on the road around the US making tons of cash exhibiting it to the masses. P.T. Barnum tried to buy it from him, but he refused. So P.T. Barnum hired sculptors to create his own "Cardiff Giant" which Barnum billed as the "Real Cardiff Giant". And the two giants starred in parralell competing tours of the nation...Barnum's fake giant, and the original (which was itself fake).

Those poor Mexicans are still mired in that ignorant superstition.

But thank GAWD we Americans have advanced beyond that, and no longer fall for hucksters like that.

Now you will hafta to excuse me...because I have to get back to studying for that exam for my degree ...from Trump University.

If they were categorically debunked in 2017 then why is the Mexican govt entertaining the claims and even holding a public hearing in Sept 2023? reminds of the current Pentagon/CIA/NASA hearings. All strange for phenomena that were also supposedly debunked and yet....

Probably the government being populists. Also remember that politicians aren't the brightest people. Maybe some of them want to believe.

They were discredited by experts looking into them, the media reported on those results.

The media didn't discredit them, only spread awareness of their lack of credibility.

Most people do not have the time or energy to devote to closely following every obvious hoax that comes along. That would be a monumental waste of time.

We don’t really need to pay attention to this stuff. (Occasionally, I do because it’s fun.) If it’s true, it will be proven by experts; if not, it won’t be. What individual people think or don’t think does not matter that much although those who are quick to believe everything they see or read on the subject are probably susceptible to believing other nonsense which could involve a potentially worse outcome.
