Here's to us! If you're going to be strong in something, be strong and commited to your personal opinions! :D

It's my strong opinion that if you have a strong opinion you should spend some time thinking about why you have that opinion, how you came to hold it and whether you can defend it logically and morally and, if necessary, factually. Preferably before you voice it.

I have some strong opinions on certain topics, but I tend to keep them to myself. Opinions are inevitably offensive to someone and I don't purposely set out to offend people.

Good advice.
Some other general advice is that it's usually better to not challenge others who have strong opinions that clash with your own. Neither of you will change your opinions & you'll both end up angry with each other. I know this from personal experience. When I feel strongly about something, the more my opinion is challenged means the more defensive I'll become. It's better not to debate with me & talk about things in general without accusing or implying anything about me. After I've calmed down I might start to process & consider an opposing viewpoint.

I once read about a psycological experiment that came to the conclusion that people chose an opinion first and then after that seek out the facts to back it up.

You shouldn't have to worry about offending people with harmless optinions really but it's almost an impossible task these days.

Mad enough to implode on itself in an orgy of violence and despair during World War 3. :skull:

I do but I've learned not to push them on others. Also, with politics I've pretty much thrown my hands up and found that getting all mad about is pretty pointless at times. Took a long time to realize that.

This is interesting and probably true. If people could be more aware of this maybe they would try to do real research that would consider all possible points of views before they form an opinion. That means trying to be in someone's else's shoes (if it is a personal conflict) but also studying the sources that are comming from opposite sides, too (if it is a group of people). And also trying to understand the motives behind the sources. Who would prosper from forcing their truths..So, it is not an easy task for those who really want to know the truth behind all of the truths and is there just one truth..

I'm just gonna start keeping all my opinions to myself from now on. Nobody really cares about my opinions anyway and its only a matter of time before things get so bad that they round people like me up to place in concentration camps. :bounce:
