I was confused are we supposed to get stressed, angry or overwhelmed easily? I ask because at times I can't ''take on'' a lot. I am not trying to be something I am not or jealous of, just keep trying to figure out how NT Men can for example have three dogs, three or more kids, plus a full time job. I go out with my dog in the yard, and can hear neighbors and people walking, enjoying the weather and not feeling as stressed as I am, I feel ''busy'' making sure everything goes right or a ''format'', disconnected from my environment and not wanting to be bothered. I can be a ''fun'' guy but it seems that everything has to be ''right'' whether it's with my dog, a job or relationship.

I get all those things easily. They're all related to our nervous system which tends to get bombarded more easily than it would for NTs. That can lead to an intolerance of anything out of our control - meaning we feel stressed, angry, and overwhelmed faster than people with typical nervous systems.

Part of my ASD testing was about how well I can multitask or manage multiple sensory / emotional states at once. It's not easy for me at all, so I can relate to what you're saying.

I feel at times paralyzed or partially disabled, that instead of craving what other guys my age actually wanted, and some I knew got married right out of high school or not many years after, my cousins husbands one is a MD and the other is a firemen. I on the other hand get depressed, stressed, emotional cry meltdowns in private, angry. I often feel that way of life or suburbs is not for me, want to move with my dog to a desert city like El Dorado in Santa Fe NM, I feel no connection to my family at all or interests.

I feel that way too. I had a career because I had no choice, to keep my kids and my house. It was unbearable and frankly quite traumatic to manage all of that responsibility and focus for many years. It nearly killed me and I'm not exaggerating. I'm very lowkey and would happily go live off-grid somewhere with very few essentials.

The trappings of NT life have never interested me at all.

I am not trying to be something I am not just hard on myself not being able to keep up with guys my age and how they handle so much

1.) 1 or more kids to much stress ( many men and women can't wait)
2.) 2 or more dogs a lot of anxiety for me, I have one dog and is enough
3.) 60+ hours a week to much stress and anxiety ( feel like my life is full time job)
4.) Dealing with people and or the public to stressful

I get overwhelmed real easily to. I can't do too much or it wrecks me. Can't be around too much external stimulation or it wrecks me. I totally relate to wanting to pack up the dog and vanish into some unpopulated area. I dream of being a hobo. Maladaptive? Maybe. Still, I'll probably sell my house in a few years and go be homeless, live out of a car and tent in national forests until I'm too old to do it anymore. No people or city life sounds like paradise to me.
