I would like to report that the London meet up today was a great success,
Nobody got lost as we made our way through the crowds to sit in a quite part of the park
The pizza was good (despite a minor altercation over the bill)
The weather was excellent (dry, bright and not too hot)

And the company was THE BEST! (that is all of you)

We met at Waterloo then went to the foyer of the National Theatre where we talked some of us drank tea then we walked up to Green Park where some of us discussed the concept of infinity when applied to a model of the universe. We then went for a Pizza before going back to Waterloo to go our separate ways home.

Who met up?

I'm coming to London in January 2008 and plan on meeting Lau.

Does anyone else want to come and say hello to me?

I've never been to Europe before.

Yeah, i had a great time too!

Just realised i forgot to say sorry for being late, but thats probably because i felt so comfortable.

It was a bit tough doing 2 big meetups in a row, so i was occasionally a bit tired/snappy (which isnt fair because your all lovely people and deserve the full psych experience :) ) A great day & id love to do something like this again. Big thanks to 0_equals_true for initiating & organising it 8)

I would be up for saying hello, for sure.
There were 10 of us, whittled down to 8 later on.
0 equals true, violentcloud, rincemeister, mr sinister, myself, iceb, psych, kaleido, sepia, aspie chav.
Was a great day, albeit some crowds and noise issues, but all seemed to get along ok.

Yeah, i would like to come if thats OK. If you post up a date when you have one you could 'officialise' it & then if enough people show interest, it'll be more likely people out of town without vehicles will travel in. (Thats if you dont mind a large crowd turning up)

Well it was great day all in all, 10 people not bad thanks for coming!

I guess we can use this thread for this general london meet up for the next time, put the times in the meets thread and link to this for the discussion.

Want to say it doesn't have to be organising it next time, any of can do it next (hint hint :P ).

I will be asking alex whether he can allow me to moderate the meets thread so I can put up the upcoming meets then people can link to their respective discussion. Also list thing under general, special interest, ect.

How regular were we thinking of making these meetups? Every two months? Every month? Every year, lol ?

How about having a summer and winter meetup in London. I could attend a meetup around Christmas.

True enough, have to say, having a few taller people to look for was very useful on the few occasions we did get separated...just had to look for the hair :P

Huzzah.
It only just occurs to me that we left the poor little orange behind. At least it had a new hat to keep it happy.

If you are going to have a load of UK meetups, why constain them to London? Surely somewhere more northern would be better?

Not for people who live in the South West.
