Embarrassed because I didn't know what a one night stand was

A one night stand is a sexual relationship that lasts only one night but for some reason I feel bad that I didn't know about it earlier.

I remember they used to do these quizzes or games on Facebook about your friends and someone I wasn't really friends with asked a question "Has Christopher had a one night stand?" And he answered No. For some reason that annoyed me and feel as though I did know there was some meaning to it that might have been something to do with sex but I wasn't sure.

I also had never heard of so called "hookup culture" before until yesterday in which people have casual sex encounters such as one night stands without emotional intimacy, bonding or a committed relationship. I seem to also feel "bad" or "missing out on life" because I wasn't one of those guys who went to bars and so on to get a one night stand as I wasn't sure how I might be able to perform with someone during sex and I'm well aware of STIs and know there a condoms for protection but still didn't ease the anxiety and worries about it.

I don't know if it's because this type of stuff was out of my comfort zone and hadn't experienced it before and so that's why it worried me. I've been to bars and places before but never ended up at the end of the night with a woman to go and have sex with and I never expected to when I out to these places.

Funny that when I saw the title I thought of when I was 12 doing that quiz and had no idea what that was either.
