Trump was right: Other countries don't respect the US, and they're not going to after seeing that debate.

Americans take personal freedoms a little too far in terms of having the right to self-sabotage their own interests.

Trump is a major contributing factor to why other countries don't respect the US. It's hard to respect people who vote a senile, incompetent rapist as their leader, it says something about those people, what they value and what they don't value.

coincidentally the people of the world also think Israelis and Palestinians reflect their leadership too

So...you're saying that "Trump is right" about the fact that Trump himself is a disgrace to the nation?

Could be.

Trump always claimed the nation had no respect prior to Trump's term in office (a lie), and that he restored respect (he actually caused disrespect and disorder among our allies), and that Biden restored disrespect (when he actually restored respect).

But...in this debate...Biden came off as mentally impaired, and Trump came off as his usual lying as*hole self. So yes...that one evening the two of them together made all us Americans want to...just curl up into a little ball on the floor like a pill bug, and to just disappear from the eyes of the world!

If they were to drop dead simultaneously the amount of joy and relief I would feel would be similar to having a 50 pound bowling ball lifted off an ingrown toenail.

Biden left me chilled and heartbroken, because he seemed to live up to the role of senile old man the Republicans have been painting him as. That said, I'll still vote for him (unless the Democrats convince Biden to step aside for another candidate) because not a single word of truth passed between Trump's lips, as he is a narcissistic conman and liar, and very likely in Putin's pocket.

Any chance of President Kamala?

^My understanding is that the prospect of a president Kamala is a big part of the reason that swing voters aren't swinging towards Biden. Unfortunately his debate performance will add a lot of credence to the idea that a vote for Biden is, in reality, a vote for Harris.

Very saddening, that and how it's all framed as a cult of personalities.
I hope those who saw it can rise above that and evaluate each on their performance as President.

The CNN moderation was appalling throughout, allowing Trump to lie, lie, and lie again without being challenged on any of it.
Asked how he would prevent import tariffs from raising domestic prices he said they wouldn't rise - demonstrating yet again that he has no idea what tariffs are or how they work.
This was let stand without challenge.

Given half a chance I know who I'd be voting for.

I just hate to think that those 2 are the best our country has to offer. It seems like we (the USA) could do better. That old quote "hold your nose and vote" really resonates this election cycle (and for the past few, as far as that goes).
