Could I have been beaten due to being on the spectrum?
I've recently talked with someone from 22 years ago, and I think I came out of it even more disturbed... as he said that he had no clue... anything at all was happening... I was there for two years, as a boarder, this was someone I met often as I walked in corridors... wtf happened? A 12 year old aspie cannot mention anything from here, at all? I despair even thinking about it... could it be because there was someone who minimized it? I don't get it... world is so f u c ked, my brain is too, apparently... (although, of course, this is assuming that someone would have done something about it if mentioned, but since no one did two years later when I did tell a teacher, and then had a whole series of people who couldn't care less... I doubt anything would have happened, either way... a bullet through my brain could the only thing that helps, now...)

I'm so sorry that this happened to you and was done to you.
I think it's unfortunately quite common in instances of abuse for the adults in charge who could have done something to be in denial of their role and to deny that anything happened at all. It's not just when the victim is autistic, though that could make the victim even more vulnerable to being treated that way.
