Well this is my first time on here... I'm 25 and live in York, England. Suprisingly I work in a call centre and try to sell stuff to people on the phone!! ! lol Not doing so great at it as you can imagine but in a weird way it kinda helps coz i get to practice small talk with hundreds of different people all day. I haven't disclosed I have AS but they have already identified me as a "straight talker" and I have been moved on to talk to businesses (accountants etc) and I think i've got my niche 
I am madly obsessed with music and I have been for a while. When I was younger it was a great way to make friends as i played in orchestras etc. Nowadays I play guitar in bands (thrash/stoner metal) and have an absurdly large CD collection.
I was never diagnosed when i was younger and I wish i had been because it would have made the step into adulthood easier. I have found the hardest thing is not making friends, I've been lucky and have some very understanding yet strange friends, but trying to get a girlfriend. I have had them don't get me wrong but as I get older it gets harder and harder. Just talking to anyone is hard enough but talking to a girl you fancy is a nightmare. I have destroyed so many opportunities by blurting out the most rediculous offensive things... 
If anyone has any tips I'd really appreciate them 
Anyway thats enough about me....

Hey Metal, welcome aboard! Working in a call centre -that's pretty good therapy 
...and playing in bands, cool 
As for that part about chatting-up with girls, would you consider joining a speaker's club? It's made a big difference for me, I'd give it a try if I were you.

yeah i forgot for a moment I was talking with like minded people.... I am a full on music junky! There I said it
I'll definiotely look into that speaking thingy. There's quite a big community here in york but I haven't summoned up the courage to go down yet to one of their functions. All I can imagine it would be is alot of very uncomfortable people in a room on the brink of conversation... lol
