No one wants to work they say!
I would be more than happy to work but I am on social security disability and SSI and I am not allowed to save money or have good emergency fund legally so I have no incentive to work plus I would lose my healthcare coverage from the government and I have roughly 10,000 a month in medical bills so I would have to make close to 200,000 dollars individually as a entry-level worker with no STEM degree to equal my current situation and there's no way I could make 200,000 at a job.I would need to gross about 160,000 a year just to cover medical bills. So I would need to make over 200,000 a year to be in a good of a situation so I have no real financial incentive to work.I would literally die if I lost my medical coverage so thats a big reason why I dont work for a boss.
Anyone who thinks 'no one wants to work' has not tried to apply for a job recently.
I once sat down in a job centre only to be asked '...Have you considered giving up and moving to the other side of the country? I can't see any jobs on our system right now' (Why are you even open then? What's the point?)
I do want to move, but not to that extreme.
The amount of interviews I have... *sigh* The amount of cover letters...it's ugh.
I particularly hate it when my work coach Googles 'jobs in my area' in front of me and then suggests jobs that were posted last year. 'Why don't you apply to this one?' because someone clearly forgot to take that one down. 'How about this?' I only just had an interview for that one. 'Oh how about...?', yeah, I went for that one as well, turned out to be a scam.
