Most of those are too new to deserve a remake.

I want to see the Phantasm series remade.

I think the incorporation of current "monsters" in popular culture like creepy aliens, giant shark, bigfoot and Lochness Monster would make more sense than Godzilla, the blob or the "thing".

I agree that most of those movies are too recent. But I'd love to see a remake of The Creature From The Black Lagoon.

I understand Australia has a Bigfoot like cryptid called the Yowie.

Godzilla was revived in the 90s and 2000s, with heavy duty special effects, and has been done to death.

King Kong was revived in the 70s and again in the 2000s with success.

But most of these campy monsters just wouldnt work today.

Except for..."Attack of the Mushroom Men" aka "Matango, the Fungus of Terror".

The two competing titles ALONE make it among the greatest works of cinema ever!
