While this lady is describing her children, she is so right about these myths.

I can add to these myths, but on to the video... Enjoy!

I was hoping this would be about the story of how Autisticles beat the gods in a trivia contest related to his special interest. :(

Well, yeah.

I can see how introversion and social anxiety can be mistaken for autism.

Whether onlookers looking at 'shy kids' or teenagers and adults relating to autistics stories on social struggles, rejection, trauma, bullying and abuse...

I can say the say with being alexithymic and it's external features. To a point it's a stereotype.

The same with intellectual disabilities or learning disabilities.
Or giftedness -- even savantism alone. Sure spiky profiles are common.

And blatantly ignoring the human factors with assumptions around the label.

The lady is very much right -- whether you're autistic or not, having high levels of anxiety will impede one's learning.
Or that autistics can very much comprehend and feel loneliness, and whatever 'socially conscious' mores they can be very aware of contrary to the stereotype of the condition.

   The hand thing is something I do very, very often with my mom even to this day.

Thank you for sharing the video. I've broken all of those myths as a child.

Welcome.

My mind has been on autism the last few days as I am waiting for a questionare to come that is from the autism.people. Is something to do with an online course that I am attending soon, and the questionare needs to be filled in before the course starts. (First bit is "An introduction to autism". Then other titles will be covered. No idea what will take place. Am not sure how to prepare. Hope questionare comes soon as I will have more of an idea by the questions asked. Was supposed to do it online, but can't get the online thing to work).
