I'm a loathsome, overweight, misshapen, smelly creature.

I think I’m average and pleasant looking. I think my attractiveness comes from my eyes and smile.
Some people will call me ugly because I’m an obvious nerd who doesn’t care about beauty standards but I’ve made peace with that and it doesn’t affect my self esteem much anymore.

As I've aged I've grown to have a distinctive look that would make it inadvisable to rob banks. I'd say that i look better, overall than i have in my entire life. yet, life experiences have made it impossible to feel particularly attractive. I was never typically masculine nor have typical masculine interests. I have no interest in "attracting" anyone so i just present myself as i am an let them decide.

I know I'm ugly. I tried to bring up a vasectomy with my doctor, she looked me over and said with a face like that you don't need to worry about kids.

Ya know, I got discovered to be a model as a kid—turns out they were doing an ad campaign for birth control.

I really was an ugly kid though, whenever I played in the sandbox the cat kept trying to cover me up.

You should have replied: "Well, you became a doctor with no brains. Shows anything can happen!"

I get no respect, I tell you. :skull:

I am in shock a bit.
I knew I was aging (61) but lately I look more like 75. Stress has done it along with lack of sleep for several years. And I don't take very good care of myself other than an extremely healthy diet.
I have hated my nose all my life, still hear all those teasing comments from youth, but now I no longer feel repulsed by it. Odd to have such a radical change, but grateful for it.
For the past couple of years, I have spent very little time at the mirror and mostly just make sure my hair is basically brushed and that I have no cling-on boogers etc. I then venture out into society dressed as I please, zero makeup (as has been the case for decades) and 'see' myself as my inner person rather than my outer.

I too don't wear makeup and when I go out I just try to be minimally presentable. I often just pat my hair down to tamp down flyaways rather than actually comb it. :)

I'm okay with my looks. I'm sometimes proud, such as after I've shaved my face, washed my hair, etcetera. Generally, I'm not exactly thrilled about my physical appearance; lack of physical exercise and sunlight may contribute to that.

I notice how I'm aging, and see all the echos of my family in the reflection.

Pretty good as my waistline is down to 24 inches, the same as when I was twenty pounds lighter!
The extra pounds means I now have an hourglass figure.
During the summer I wear XS crop tops and short shorts.

Like many Aspies I look much younger than my actual age.

I'm overweight but I try to go to the gym at least three times per week much to the dismay of a paternal uncle who is morbidly obese and views visits to the gym as not a "manly thing" to do.
