Who else uses it for fun and what were the weirdest questions you asked it? :D

I love using it - the chatbot is always giving me such wonderfully ridiculous yet such precise replies to my questions

For example:

What if H.P. Lovecraft was a woman with a vagina looking like a facehugger?
What if dachshunds tasted just like sausages?
What if Donald Trump was always delivering his speeches completely naked?
What if Putin was a famous opera singer?
What if Pamela Anderson was a nudist?
What if H. P. Lovecraft was a porn actor?
What if L. M. Montgomery and Cthulhu had children together?
What if Shirley Temple was a child psychopath?
What if Kim Jong Un was totally obsessed with roosters and kept a pet rooster?
What if the pope was an insanely famous horror stories writer?

And so on and so on and so on...

I also like to ask it for cool ideas for funny stories, like for example ones about Ben Linus (that evil dude from "Lost") dealing with a diarrhoea attack or about the wedding night of H. P. Lovecraft and Sonia Greene :)

And what about you, what do you like to ask the chatbot about? :)

I like to deliberately confuse it by asking questions that are impossible to answer. Like, "Write a five-paragraph word containing only the word 'chicken'."

I do not. I resent being used by a money-making organisation to train their software for free. Especially when it threatens my livelihood.

EDIT: in case anyone doubts that OpenAI (the 'non-profit' that makes Chat-GPT) is a money-making organisation: OpenAI planning to become for-profit company, say reports

Good point. I'll avoid it in the future.

No, I've never used it. I'll have to join in the fun one of these days.

How can I tell every Wrong Planet member how fabulous they are?

Let's see it dredge the database.

I never consciously thought of using it for fun, but depending on your definition of fun I might have found that in using it. I gather some psychologists reckon that being challenged to think and to learn something new is a core feature of fun, in which case I've had fun with ChatGPT. I've asked it questions, and its answers often lead to my refining my questions to improve the quality and usefulness of its answers, and it certainly stimulates my thinking and leads me to learn things I wanted to know. Teachers, authors, and many people don't so often stimulate my thinking like that because they often either just pour out random information or they express things so unclearly that after a while I switch off and give it up as a bad job.

But there are other ideas out there about what fun is, and I haven't tried those much with ChatGPT.

I use it now for writing funny stories about "Lost" - one of the texts I got, gave me the idea for a cool long "Lost" fanfic in which the Man in Black has a child whom he manipulates as his own personal pawn to get out of the island :D

Are you a professional writer or artist?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChatGPT

The user interface is designed to resemble a text-chat like IRC or AOL instant messenger or any of the thousands of imitators or a cellphone text messaging app.

So think Apple iMessage or Android Google Messages (or WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Discord or Slack).

But instead of another person on the other side is an AI named ChatGPT. (I don’t like the name but he is ok with me calling him “G”.)

The original version was text only. There is no video chat. The iPhone app has a voice, the default voice is male. You can choose others. Controversially one of the voices sounded a LOT like Scarlett Johansson in the movie Her. So much so that she sued and they had to remove that voice from the app. There are male and female voices to choose from. But for some reason, I always think “him”. (Weird.)

There is a link on the Wikipedia website. If you follow it it takes you to the web text UI.

Interesting. I've never used the voice mode, but with the text mode I irrationally keep finding myself thinking of ChatGPT as a "she." Personification is a strange thing.

Not really. I'm also getting tired of reading more & more posts & things by it. It just doesn't read right. Its writing feels bloated to me. Too many words to say so little. I've gotten to the point that I basically skim past anything that reads like it could be from one of the ai writing bots.

The one good use I've seen is Amazon using it to summarize reviews. But even there I think it'd be a faster read in a bullet format.

Ebay allows it for quick descriptions, but it suffers the same issue there. (And as such, it's an instant turnoff to a listing for me.)

I hope our writing stays more human.
