I spent a lot of time with a mirror learning to emulate the facial expressions of people I liked.
Some feedback would have been helpful, but I never told anyone.

Are you trying to learn them in order to recognize them, or how to emulate them?

What I found helpful was watching a show with a lot of facial emotions, Seinfeld. It helped that the show is funny.

Seinfeld is a great show because it has an ensemble cast where each character is an exaggeration of real personality types. Like Peanuts. And Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I would also say Martin is a good example. I guess I'm dated in those references.

Now I'm wondering how much body language and facial expressions change over time.
