SSRIs and Sleep
The long term side effects of SSRIs did not work out well for me,in the long term. Had been through almost all the commonly available ones .Over a period of Many years . Some side effects were worse than others.
Went all natural .....body seemingly accepted those better ....Also a little direction ftom a retired ER doc , and a appt with a Naturopath .. Helped alot . If your insurance doesnt cover them , consider that your health us your best investment for the money .( worth saving money for an appointment )
Welbutrin messed with my sleep , Paxil did not help ,( longterm), cannot recall the other brand names.

Loves velcro,
My already-tough insomnia got much worse when I went on Bupropion. I am having to counteract it with sleep meds, something that goes quite a bit beyond irking me.
I worry about my liver and all that it has to process.
Sleep meds always gave me horrible dry mouth, leading to water consumption in bed, leading to frequent trips to the loo, leading to being awake too many times in one night and not being able to get back to sleep because my mind races a nanosecond after waking.
As with Jakki, I went to a naturopath and was given powdered magnesium which did indeed help me GET to sleep initially. But did not keep me there.....
Fun stuff!!
