There have been lots of autism alligations aimed at world's best soccer player lionel messi.

He is a married man and met his wife when they were just children in Argentina. Messi wife Antonello is very beutiful whereas Lionel Messi is very average looking bordering on ugly and is short in stature

Do you agree with me there is no way in a million years Messi would get a wife like he has if he not much and was like the rest of us with a regular job?

I think his wife would have married him without him being a famous football player. There are plenty of taller, better looking and "cooler" football players and celebrities that are pretyy much as rich as Messi she could have gone for if she fell for that kind of stuff. Messi seems to be a humble and nice guy. I think she loves him for that and his introverted charm and charisma.

Do you agree with me that there is no way Messi's wife would be able to get a famous, rich, talented husband like she has if she didn't happen to be good looking?

Or is it only women who are superficial?

^I guess George Bush ("the elected") qualify as rich and talented. Sometimes people mistook his wife for being his mother.

You can't draw any conclusions from a single example. Things turn out a thousand different ways for a thousand different people.

I don't know much about Lionel Messi but...

Hey Phil and Anita, your love story isn't as unique as you think it is!! !

They met in a similar way and in similar circumstances as Lionel Messi & his wife

He had a crush on her when he was a kid but there’s no proof that it was reciprocated.

They met again as adults; after he became famous - so there’s no way to tell if his career didn’t affect her choice. It would be naive to think it didn’t have any effect; after all she became a famous influencer and model making thousands on her own thanks to her relationship with him.

Only time will tell whether their love is genuine or not; but they have 3 children already so apparently it is going well so far.

A better love story would be the one of Mark Zuckerberg; he is legally ugly; but his girlfriend (who is his wife now) was dating him BEFORE he became super rich - an undeniable proof that she picked him for him, not for his wealth; he was a nobody web programmer back then with a very… quirky personality.

He made a good choice by not ditching her and going for some model (like many newly rich men tend to do).

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that good looks will attract, that bad attitudes will repel, and that great wealth will cover a multitude of flaws.

^ Just look at Trump as a great example.

What does his wealth don’t cover?

I don't believe many people think Zuckerberg is ugly, not sure who told you that.

I agree that Messi isn't conventionally attractive, but to me he doesn't look like someone a woman would reject solely on the basis of appearance. When Messi's wife knew him back in the day, he would already have been a footballer and a good one. That may have been enough to get her interest even if they weren't an item then.

Of course when they met again as adults, he was famous.

What is it about Messi that doesn't make him conventionally attractive?

I think he just got lucky. He was lucky enough to marry his childhood crush.
