Anyone else ever collected buttons?
I used to have a box full of different kinds of buttons and loved them.
I am still quite fond of buttons and am tempted to collect them again as they are usually pretty cheap and easy to come by.

How could you use buttons for anything other than your shirt?

Buttons can be used to make all kinds of things, but one doesn't collect things for their use.
One collects things often for the different variants of the item or because they are nice to look at etc.
Buttons were a special interest of mine.

I cannot give any explanations for the fact that I feel a real horror for buttons. Zips have been my liberation. I cannot see a button on a table, I use clothes without buttons and couldn't sleep in a bed whose pillows have buttons. Mother of pearl are the worst, but I hate also bachelite buttons, The only ones that I could tolerate are metal buttons.

I used to, when I was a kid.

I've been moving a lot for a long time, so it seems a little frivolous now. . . but I've always loved them.

Probably this runs together with my fondness for modifying my clothing in weird ways. . .

I have thousands of buttons. I love sorting through them. I can, and have, spend hours with them.
Poor Paolo.

I love the old glass ones or those set with rhinestones the best...I always looks for them at sales.

I had childrens' buttons...ducks and rabbits and things like that, among other more adult buttons.
