First post. I'm glad there is a forum like this, for people with Autism. Thanks to the moderators and administrators, as it's not an easy job.

I was recently formally diagnosed with level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (without intellectual or language impairment). It's somewhat of a relief to have so many things in my life explained by this.

I like to read, and have long-standing computer hobbies. I get along with cats better than most people.

I'm staying in a place where there isn't much tolerance for people with this condition, so I'm not really at liberty to unmask, except for a very few trusted people.

PS: I'm currently reading the book "Neurotribes". :|

A warm welcome Wrong Planet! Mostly, the climate is temperate but some areas have the potential for stormy weather from time to time.

There's a wide spectrum of interests here!

Hi and welcome
I'm sure it's a relief to have some of clarification about your condition. I was diagnosed quite young and still learning more about it everyday.
I totally get what you mean with cats, they are so much easier to deal with.
Welcome aboard, I look forward to getting to know you more in the forum.

Welcome to WP! I hope you find some release here.

I agree the diagnosis is a wonderful relief. I got mine (a couple of days before my 65th birthday!) and was delighted to finally know what the heck was wrong with most people.

And please extend my warmest regards to the kitties!!

CapedOwl, Welcome to Wrong Planet.

Humans are more complex then most people realize. This is because we have multiple brains. Our brain has two halves, one on the right side of our skull and the other on the left. They are very different brains.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I make a special effort to try to use my right-brain-hemisphere more through meditation techniques. It makes me much more happy.
