In my experience it's an awkward fumble for the first while and then becomes far more interesting and special later once the initial phase is done with. Just come to peace with the fumbelisation and expect it. Feel comfort in knowing that it is worth pushing through. That is really the best I can say. Either that or work on your social skills to the point of almost being NT-esque and things can be less painful.
